Call me a cheeseball all you want, but maternity sessions, especially those done at the expecting couples' home, make me really, really, (maybe a little embarrassingly) happy. This is where Elsa and Ben's little boy is going to grow up. This is where their son will become best friends with their awesome dog Hugo. This is the farm, surrounded by their families' farms, that he will grow to know and love as home just as his parents have. I met Elsa and Ben at their home in Orange County last Saturday, after spending a nostalgia-filled car ride there. I grew up in Orange, and a slow drive through the tiny, unchanged town left me surprised with the flood of memories that came rushing in. I don't think I appreciated how beautiful Orange is when I was growing up. It may just be the juxtaposition between the completely-developed Northern Virginia, but the undulating hills with blue mountain backdrops, the vastness, the simplicity, even the cow fields made me miss it. Elsa and Ben's home was no exception, the epitome of country charm.
Elsa may be the cutest person to walk the face of the earth, bursting with laughter at every chance but can throw a mean "model face" just as quickly. Ben is her perfect compliment, smiling along with her, just a little more reserved. They seem to strike a perfect balance together, as their chemistry and the anticipation of their little baby boy on the way made the images from their session shine. They were both so much fun to be around, joking and enjoying themselves, even as I made poor Elsa tromp through around the saturated, soggy field in her cute wedge shoes. What a champ. :-)
You guys are awesome. I hope you love these as much as I do, and I wish you both the best of luck with the little one!
Soon to be family of four...
Hugo is SUCH a pretty dog
Hugo gnawing on his most recent find in the background...we think it was a deer leg haha
The perfect onesie for the future ag-enthusiast... :-)
On their front porch...
The sun came out in full force right as we finished up...my favorite.
Cheers! Best of luck to all THREE of you (four with Hugo haha)!
