Emily & Jonathan | Married! | Charleston SC and Virginia Wedding Photographer

They vowed to devote their lives to each other on a mountain overlooking their favorite camping spot on the Shenandoah River.  An eagle soared overhead as Jonathan smiled and  whispered to Emily how incredible she looked, and their son Jonathan Jr. slept peacefully in his stroller as the sun kissed the horizon and slowly dipped beneath it. The breeze was brisk following the sun's farewell, but somehow, Emily and Jonathan were warm, they were glowing throughout the ceremony.

Every now and then, I have the pleasure of meeting people that simply make everyone around them feel comfortable, at home in their presence. Emily and Jonathan both sport a kind smile and an easygoing demeanor that instantly assured me that we would be a great fit, and photographing their wedding day felt a lot like a cheerful get together with old friends.

Wedding preparation included a gathering of family and friends at gorgeous log cabin overlooking the blue ridge, scampering of little feet and raucous laughter. Emily beamed as her mom helped her put her veil and jewelry on, and soon after, Jonathan wiped a tear upon seeing his bride in her dress for the first time. Following their scenic, cheerful ceremony, we all headed to the reception at The Art Warehouse in Luray, Virginia (AWESOME). It was such a unique venue with just the right amount of rustic charm to be perfect for them! I loved their creativity and style, but most of all I enjoyed the company of everyone in attendance. Fun, cheerful, and relaxed, I again felt at home.

Thank you, Emily, Jonathan, (and adorable little Jonathan Jr.) for allowing me to be a part of it all, letting me in to be at home with you, your family, and your friends.  Your love for each other is beyond evident, one that transcends. <3 Cheers, and congratulations to you both!

First look- *Cue the waterworks* :-)

Reception time! I LOVED their details, and so much of it was DIY!

In the blink of an eye, it was time for the final dance.  SUCH a fun evening!
