Alecia & Billy | Married! | Culpeper Wedding Photographer
I don't consider myself to be the type to audibly squeal with girly excitement very often, but when I met Alecia and Billy for the first time to discuss their vision for their big day, one of their details in particular had me bouncing in my seat and doing a pretty ridiculous "fast clap"- you know the one I'm talking about ladies...it's often accompanied by a high pitched "EEEEEEE I'M SO EXCITED!".
Alecia and Billy's wedding day was peppered with fluffy clouds, some more ominous looking than others, but the intermittent threatening skies were kind enough to only open up and pour once during the whole day. About 10 minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to begin, it poured. When I say poured, I mean POURED.
It struck me that the drenching summer storm over Old House Vineyards, in Culpeper, Virginia was one of cleansing, of refreshment, and setting a clean slate for the new chapter in Alecia and Billy's lives. The ceremony began as the rain slowed to a sprinkle, and finally subsided only after their Pastor began his opening prayer.
Back to that detail I mentioned- Alecia and Billy have a Dalmation named Rocky, who also happened to be playing the part of ring bearer. That in itself is adorable, but the best part? THEY HAD A DOGGY TUX FOR HIM. I repeat. There was an adorable dog, in a tux, in my immediate vicinity, all day. If you've met me like, once, you'll know that an animal dressed in any sort of dapper attire will make my entire day month. Check out Rocky and his fly-lookin doggy self, as well as a few other of my favorite moments from Alecia and Billy's beautiful wedding below!
Cheers, and congratulations to you both!!!
Old House Vineyards has a bridge at the ceremony site where couples can their custom lock on the chain link, and throw the key into the pond, representing their unbreakable commitment to one another. I loved the rustic, weathered look of their custom lock and keys!
Billy looking great waiting for his bride at their first look!
One of my favorite shots from the day. Breathtaking Alecia!
Billy's huge smile when seeing his bride for the first time! So sweet.
The storms were rolling in quick and the skies became darrrrrrrk! I thought it made for such a romantic shot!
And here's Rocky in his doggy tux! Gahhhh! So Awesome. The bridesmaids, groomsmen, and family all prayed together over the phone for Alecia and Billy. I was down with Billy near the ceremony site and got these, while Krysta (my incredible second shooter/friend) got shots of the bride praying with her dad and bridesmaids at the same time! Pretty cool. :)
Excited groom and best man making their way to the ceremony!
Sierra, Billy's daughter, and their dog Rocky made their way across the bridge to the ceremony as Billy looked on with pride. Loved this moment so much.
The skies were clearing up, and only a light sprinkle remained as Alecia made her way to the ceremony with her Dad. What an incredible venue!
A beautiful ceremony, and Alecia and Billy are MARRIED!
These were a little different from my normal style, but I loved Krysta's idea to have Alecia and Billy stand in the place of the King and Queen on the huge chess board!
A natural frame around the new husband and wife taking a few quiet moments together before the ceremony.
Romantic first dances always get me...right in the feels. ;-)
But then there's the Father-daughter dance...and I lose it even more. Seriously so sweet.
Kind words and well wishes...
And in the blink of an eye, it was time for their sparkler exit. CHEERS TO THE NEWLYWEDS!! :-)
Thanks to Krysta Norman of kan pursuits for second shooting!
