Mentoring Session with Kelly Ewell Photography
Kelly of Kelly Ewell Photography opened her doors of her (GORGEOUS) home to me last weekend with a bright smile to invite me in for my first ever mentoring session! I must admit, I was a little nervous going into the session, but Kelly provided a comfy couch, Godiva chocolate (yessss), and relaxed conversation while she gave helpful tips for growing a photography business! She. Is. Awesome. From wedding day timelines to albums and album design, I scribbled (what was dangerously close to illegible) notes as we covered so much in the span of a few hours. She provided sample wedding day timelines, questionnaires, SEO tips, and a lengthy critique of my website that was kind but helpful. She had obviously done her homework, and was very prepared to tackle all of the topics I had mentioned I was interested in during our correspondence prior. There's something to be said about a successful photographer who is willing to freely share all of her "secrets". That's a mark of a great leader, folks.
The biggest surprise to me was that like me, Kelly also has a full time job. But, UNLIKE me, she artfully balances home life, a successful photography business, a full time job, a husband, a fur baby, does crossfit every night, and still manages to have an immaculate home because she has a solid workflow and is super efficient. I BOW DOWN. My laundry pile grows ever closer to tumbling over and burying one of the cats at any moment and my vacuum hasn't seen daylight since the Bush administration. I'm working on it though, and Kelly had some tips for me there too.
Moral of the story, check out Kelly's work and set up a mentoring session of your own! Here's the link for more info. She's super helpful and gives you chocolates upon arrival, if that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will. ;-)
Haha, the redundancy...Best friends forever 4 eva. I'm just really passionate about chocolate.
