Diana & Justin | Married! | Spotsylvania, Virginia Wedding Photographer
When Laverne (Diana's incredible mom) initially called me to chat about her daughter's "backyard wedding", I was expecting a simple, small wedding. As she went in to further detail about their plans, I began to realize that the picture of their wedding I had envisioned upon her initial inquiry was far, far from the carefully planned, detailed, and breathtaking celebration that took place on a on a gorrrrgeous estate near my childhood home. And if you're wondering, no, my childhood home was not anything like this place haha! Diana and Justin were married at her Aunt and Uncle's house in Spotsylvania, only about 15 minutes from where I grew up (so yes, in the sticks). ;-) When Krysta, my second shooter for the day, and I arrived, our jaws dropped. The house was unlike anything I've ever seen before, flowers and carefully placed decorations were displayed everywhere around the huge, charming estate. As we retrieved our jaws from the ground and our equipment from the car, we were met with tight, joyous hugs from friends and family. I could have flown right out of there I was so elated, intoxicated by our beautiful surroundings and the warm emotions of the day.
Saturday, May 10th was not only a wedding celebration, but also a celebration of Diana's uncle Joe. Diana's family endured the very unexpected, earth shattering loss only weeks prior to the wedding. It meant the world to her Uncle that Diana was to be married at his home, and as a tribute to the wonderful man who meant so much to so many, Diana and Justin exchanged vows in front of their family and friends in celebration of his life and the lives he touched. My sincerest thanks for allowing me to document such a powerful, emotional, beautiful celebration.
Diana and Justin are SO my kind of people. They were so excited for the day, but are both so laid back. Their happy, relaxed demeanor paired with the careful planning beforehand made for a seamless day, through and through (and that, friends, is a very unlikely occurrence for a wedding day). How lucky I was to start my wedding season off with these two, and this amazing group of folks. Also, Diana is expecting!! A little one will join this incredible family in October...and honestly, that is one lucky kid! Congratulations to Justin and Diana!! Cheers! :-)
DELICIOUS peanut brittle in cute little jars for every guest.
Diana gave all of her bridesmaids special necklaces and bangles!
A classic, lace dress will always be in style. Lovely. Sidenote: This window was AMAZING!
Sarah (Diana's sister) will probably hate me for posting this, but her tearing up while handing Diana her dress made my heart nearly explode. <3
Laverne, Diana's mom. So sweet.
Meanwhile, the guys hung out in the pool house.
Justin and his best man, his dad.
Justin's mom putting on the finishing touch...
Diana's Aunt Laura's reaction to seeing Diana in her dress was priceless. She then gave Diana the veil that she wore at her own wedding.
Waiting for the first look with his gorgeous bride...
We headed back before the ceremony for some deep breaths and quiet moments.
Diana and her dad shared a few moments together before he walked his baby girl down the aisle.
Diana's mom, upon seeing her husband escorting her beautiful daughter down the aisle. You can't fake moments like these.
Look at how DARK those skies are! But the ceremony spot? Bright and sunny. Crazy beautiful.

Haha, Diana...You're so awesome.
Though, Justin had an equally fantastic "toss face" with the garter.
And just like that, it was time for the final shots of the evening.
Love it so much.
CHEERS!!! So much love to you all. It was an honor.
Thanks to Krysta Norman of KAN Pursuits for second shooting!
