Emily & Jonathan | Engaged!
It was a big change for me, leaving my childhood home nestled the woods, accessible only via a dusty dirt road for college, and ultimately the booming metropolis of Northern Va. Okay, okay...I'm exaggerating again...Occoquan is definitely not a booming metropolis, but I do miss the country feel every now and again (until I try to return home and get stuck behind a tractor for an hour). It's comforting to me to be around people that value and appreciate the same things I do, like a vast rolling countryside, a babbling brook,
a tick crawling up my leg ...wildlife. Upon getting to know Emily and Jonathan, I found comfort in our shared appreciation for the tranquility and simplicity of a mountain view devoid of an apartment complex or a string of McMansions.
Emily, Jonathan, and their little heart breaker Jonathan Junior (aka Bubby) ;-) appreciate the outdoor life like myself, and are planning a sure to be breathtaking wedding at a scenic overlook in the Shenandoah National Park. They will exchange vows in one of my favorite places on Earth, and it couldn't be a more fitting location for their laid back, beautiful little family.
I called Jarad immediately after their session to gush about how excited I was about these three and their session. While I ran around
tripping over roots and stones planning our next shot locations, Emily and Jonathan were holding hands, laughing with each other, and telling me how excited they were about their photos, and treasuring these memories at such a special time in their lives. That, my friends, makes my heart happy. Your excitement=my excitement, and it's the only reason I'm doing this. I live for the love and excitement of my clients (friends). It fills me up.
I hope these shots fill you up like they did for me. Emily, Jonathan, and widdle Jonathan Jr. are amazing people with lively, kind, beautiful souls, and I am in love with their sweet engagement session. I am thrilled and honored to be your wedding photographer! Cheers, and enjoy!
We got off to a strong start! :-) Just look at his widdle smillllle (okay I promise to not use "widdle" anymore...couldn't help myself but I'll pull it into control).
Mountain backdrops are my new fave.
The way the light poured into this field was phenomenal!
GET IT GIRL! Dang, those eyes are KILLER!
Perfect little family.
Squinty, toothy smiles are the best! :-)
Momma and her boy
Emily ROCKED this one, don't you agree?
A quick outfit change, and we finished the last half with just the two of them as the sun dipped below the horizon.
Her ring was SHINING!
Jaw drops. <3
I had to post two of this one because it was SO sweet haha!
Emily working it once more!
Jonathan admiring his gorgeous fiancé and the mother of his sweet baby boy. <3

Cheers, guys! You're the best and I'm so stoked for your wedding. <3
