Dustin and Rebecca Burnett - Expecting!

"He's kicking the blocks off!" Rebecca laughed, as Dustin gently leaned over to catch the tumbling "T" block from her baby bump while cradling her head in his lap. We were losing light fast on the cold Sunday afternoon at the farm Rebecca grew up on, so we rushed to catch what was arguably the most fun, goofy shot of the day.

We met earlier in the afternoon at a pond near the entrance of the huge, beautiful farm in Orange County, VA where Rebecca not only spent her childhood, but also married her best friend Dustin. As we hopped out of the car to exchange hugs, their two dogs Penny (the sweet little one) and Hank (the big fluffy ball of energy) ran excitedly in circles around us and really set the tone for a light, fun session. Despite the overcast skies and intermittent snow sprinkles showering us and the rolling hills of the farm, these two were so cheery, fun, and even a little silly during the shoot. It made for a spectacular overall feel for their photos. They are expecting their first child, a sweet baby boy in early April (SOON)!

Have you seen those maternity shots where and expectant mother lays blocks over her tummy to spell out the name of their baby? They are cute, but not really my style. However, upon many requests to know the name of the little one on the way, Dustin and Rebecca have a little joke going with friends that they are naming their baby boy "Tangelo"   (hahaha) and brought along little wooden blocks to do their own twist on the common maternity pose! Seriously, I might make it a requirement for all future sessions to do a silly photo, as I got WAY too excited about making that one. I loved the silly shot, and I loved the idea. While the wooden blocks may not be my typical style, turning them into a silly shot DEFINITELY is. :-) Thanks for thinking of that guys, you're my kinda people.

Congratulations to you both, I know you will be fantastic parents, especially if you keep it fun and silly like you did during the session. I loved it! Enjoy some of my favorites. :-)

That little one has some GOOD looking parents!

There were so many shots of Becca that literally made me pause for a few moments, because she's just so dang beautiful!

They had the same shot of them under these trees on their wedding day. :-)

Becca "You're going to finally have some cows on your blog"!  You know, my blog was missing something and I just couldn't put my finger on it. Alas, it was cows! These guys were very interested in seeing just what we were up to. Loved it. :-)

Check out the smile on Penny's furry little face!

Hank the teddy bear!

Personal favorite!

Dang. Just dang. Becca rocking it once again.

Finally, the one we've all been waiting for.  Welcome to the world, little Tangelo! hahahaha

A calf was born while we were doing the session! This little guy was less than an hour old! How fitting for a maternity shoot. :-)

Congrats again guys, and thanks for trusting me with your maternity photos! I had a blast.
